Give yourself permission to take time.
~Jay Shetty, Buddhist Monk
Time: it’s so different for me, now. Before my accident, my life was about getting things done, taking care of others, solving problems, moving quickly.
Now, almost two years later, my life is about letting my body heal. And to do that, I have to give it time. Gentle, caring, slow-moving time. And in doing so, I find I have more space in my brain to enjoy the little bits of every day; and joy rises up and fills me. Without the space, I wouldn’t even know about the joy that is in the little things. Going slowly, noticing when I’m holding my breath in order to produce the effort to get something “done”, these things have changed my life, for the –breathtakingly, simple– better.
